8:00 PM – Glimmerwire
Glimmerwire is a 4-piece band from Chicago that plays rock n roll and guitar pop. Featuring the songwriting and guitar-playing of Thomas Comerford (solo, Kaspar Hauser), Glimmerwire gets back-to-basics, building tunes with riffs and chords that draw on the approaches of Chuck Berry, Lou Reed, PJ Harvey, REM and Roky Erickson, among others. The songs feature lyrics with stream-of-conscious, surreal imagery. Guitarist Matthew Cummings (Big Buildings), Bassist/Keyboardist Greg Hamilton (Reivers, Blasted Diplomats) and drummer Erik Sowa (solo, Snek Trio) flesh out the songs by bringing a groovy drive that still offers a lot of space and atmosphere.

Led by Chicago guitarist and singer-songwriter Dorian Anthony Alexander Tajbakhsh, Dorian Taj is a seasoned rock act with deep ties to the local scene. From early hardcore and noise bands to fully realized rock projects under his own name, Taj crafts expressive songs with guitar-driven energy, introspective lyricism, and an expansive sound shaped by decades of performance and recording.
